HARDINGROCK - Grimen
This debut seemingly came out of nowhere, and we're glad it did. Hardingrock is a collaboration between Ihsahn (you might've heard of him? Emperor, perhaps?), Heidi S. Tveitan (Star Of Ash), and Norwegian folk fiddler Knut Buen. 'Grimen' presents folk tunes on the Norwegian national instrument, Harding fiddle (hence the project's name), with text and melodies based on Norwegian mythical tradition, arranged and recomposed in modern form with influences from heavy metal and classical-inspired electronica. An experimental project where folk tunes are thematically broken down and expressed in a new rhythmic and harmonic form with guitars, piano, keyboards, percussion, recitation and song...Hardingrock's 'Grimen' is a must for all fans of folk and its many derivations, as well as any type of progressive, adventurous music.
