The Snake Trap and Transmography are two contemporary bands from Austin. The Snake Trap plays an instrumental, groove-oriented style of rock bordering on post-punk, dub, and metal. Transmography plays a minimalist, electronic, groove-oriented style of rock. Both bands have toured throughout the United States with plans for future tours. The Snake Trap has appeared at CMJ and SXSW consistently for several years. This split is 45 rpm, orange/cream-colored 12” vinyl release. It comes with a CD-R of the tracks on the record, plus secret bonus tracks from both bands. Jacket photos and design by Sandy Carson, photographer for the Austin Chronicle and several BMX magazines.
