SARKE- Vorunah Sarke are set to release their debut album ‘Vorunah’ through Indie Records on November 6th 2009.
Formed in 2008 by its namesake Sarke, who has spread his angry art through Khold, Tulus, Old Man’s Child and Sensa Anima, the band is a mesmerizing journey through dark and soothing soundscapes, musically inspired by the likes of legends like Mayhem, Slayer, Darkthorne, Celtic Frost, Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Death, Motorhead and Kreator.
As part of his quest, Sarke wanted to create music that has inspired him since he got into the extreme metal scene and thus Nocturno Culto, from the mighty Darkthorne, was brought on board to make the core of the project complete. So whilst all music and lyrics are written by Sarke, adding Nocturno’s legendary voice to these songs has without a doubt added another dimension to the grimness.
Vorunah was recorded in November of 2008. The album was recorded in old-fashioned 70’s style to get the true vibe of the music - the sound is brutal, fresh and contemporary. This is nothing less than a modern classic – a timeless masterpiece of sinister tonality. Vorunah was produced by Sarke and Lars – Erik Westby.
Vorunah was originally released I Europe late April 2009 and the reception has been overwhelming. They where immediately booked for the Wacken festival where they played an already legendary concert feat. A guest appearance by Tom Warrior from Celtic Frost on vocals. They also played Hole In The Sky Festival in August with great success.
