One of the most amazing documents of metal excess, this is the darker, drunker side of the band's therapeutic 'Some Kind Of Monster' saga. Where that blockbuster movie was about repairing relationships, 'Metallimania' focuses on some of their most dysfunctional fans. (Think of it as the Metallica equivalent of the Judas Priest-centered 'Heavy Metal Parking Lot'. Features appearances from Madonna (!), Rob Halford, Tom Araya, Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss), old pals Scott Ian of Anthrax and Jim Martin of Faith No More. Who knows what the creators' motivation was for making this? Tribute? Condemnation? Whatever the case, don't worry, not all Metallica fans are as ridiculous as some of the characters on this fascinating, sometimes hard-to-watch, sometimes sad, usually-hilarious presentation.
